The Royston Cave is under the town, and unfortunately this is having adverse effects on the carvings. The Ben Hammott website has some wonderful drawings and pictures like the one above. They claim the cave as a meeting place for the Knights Templar -- although some see this as romantic nonsense. Wikipedia has more on that controversy.
